One of the most memorable aspects of a successful film is the music soundtrack. In this course, participants with a background in filmmaking will have the opportunity to study what it is that makes good film music, how it is produced across the industry; the different types of music and what they are used for in film, and, of course, how to obtain the right music for a project - and get the best out of a relationship with a music composer.

Course times are 10am-5pm each day.
About the tutor
Simon Whiteside is a freelance composer, editor/copyist and teacher. He graduated from the National Film and Television school in 1995 and has since worked on various projects, notably with Rob Lane at the BBC (THE LOST WORLD, LOVE IN A COLD CLIMATE, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, DANIEL DERONDA). He has held educational posts including Course Director Music Technology at Brunel University.
