This workshop will provide you with practical skills and project-centred advice for presenting your projects to the film industry.
It is aimed at: producers, screenwriters and directors who are preparing fiction feature film projects.
Day 1
Pitching
Topics will include:
1. How much time do you have? Who are you talking to? What is it that you need?
2. Preparation. Research. Rehearse.
3. Adjusting content accordingly.
4. Who are you? What is your role on the project?
5. Title and genre.
6. Can you communicate your story / project?
7. Comparables.
8. Controlling the conversation with confidence and respect.
9. Why do you want to tell this story? What you should say but also what you should remember (not necessarily the same thing)
10. Project status and assets
11. Relationships are for careers.
12. Following up.
Day 2
Practical pitching exercises drawing on pitching techniques from Day 1, followed bydrawing on pitching techniques from Day 1, followed by Packaging.
Topics will include:
1. Synopsis and Treatment.
2. Finance plans.
3. Directors statements.
4. Assets.
5. Visual supporting Materials: Pilots, trailers, Mood boards and stealomatics.
