LFA, in conjunction with Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival and BAFTA, present a day of talks on financing your film, taking your film from script to budget and marketing and distributing your film. Speakers boast credits such as: 'The Last Station', 'Star Wars', 'Taking Liberties', 'Starsuckers', ‘The Age of Stupid’, ‘Burma VJ’... If you are interested in any aspects of film production this is a day not to be missed.

This workshop is aimed at directors and will cover: communicate effectively with actors in their own language, improve your skills by putting yourself in your actors' shoes, the understanding and vocabulary you need to get the performances you are looking for.

LFA showcase, a screening of short films and Q&A with directors, will be presented as a part of the Krakow Film Festival programme 'NOC ETIUD STUDENCKICH' at The Blue Auditorium, Kino Pod Baranami in Krakow.

Is funding the key to success in film production or is it how you use it? Funding is hard to secure but once you have it how do you make the most of it? In this discussion we will talk to producers about how to be creative with funding from Lottery funding, sponsorship, private finance, acquisitions and fundraising activities, the opportunities are greater than just hard cash, the key is unlocking the potential.

This session will cover production management from the producers' perspective - with basic production management principles which can be applied both to short films and feature length productions. Topics will include: managing your budget/money, financial management of documents; pitfalls to look out for; do you need a production accountant? do you need a production manager?; the taxing issue of tax and VAT.

LFA invite aspiring writers to see their work brought to the screen during a one-day workshop at Encounters Short Film Festival. The writers of shortlisted screenplays will benefit from development consultation with a script editor, before one screenplay will be chosen to be performed by professional actors and directed by a BAFTA-winning director.
