Ever thought you'd like a career in the music video business? The amazing success story of Carly Cussen (Filmmaking Certificate graduate) should be inspiration enough...
It was watching Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' that first set Carly on a path into filmmaking. She shot her first promo for Tinie Tempah after leaving school, when she was just 17, before eventually going on to study on the four-week Filmmaking Certificate course at London Film Academy (graduating in 2007), and immediately starting work in the industry, initially as a runner.
Carly Cussen has been blazing a trail in the music video business ever since, aka 'The Princess of Grime', she has shot over 100 promos for the likes of Lethal Bizzle, Devlin, Griminal to name a few and gone on to direct pop videos for the likes of Olly Murs, Little Mix and Missy Elliott.
Here she gives useful advice to anyone interested in following in her footsteps.
The 4-week Filmmaking Certificate course runs throughout the summer months.
