TUTOR SUCCESS: Gavin Humphries wins Illy Best Short Film Prize at Directors' Fortnight at Cannes Film Festival 2012

Produced by Gavin Humphries and directed by Fyzal Boulifa, THE CURSE has won the Illy Best Short Film Prize at Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and is also nominated for Best Short and Best Cinematography in the Fujifilm Shorts Competition.

Gavin has been a guest lecturer in producing on our Filmmaking Diploma and Filmmaking Certificate. He co-founded Quark Films in 2006 and when he isn't lecturing or producing, he writes for Film4's blog.

Quark Films comment: "We'd like to thank our financiers, Film4 and the BFI, and all those who have supported the film, especially Fujifilm UK, Technicolor, Union Visual Effects, Halo Post, Jason R Moffat and the British Council. There will be a screening in London in June (details tbc) and a Directors' Fortnight screening in Paris on June 10th."
