LFA tutors are working, high profile filmmakers
Tutors pass on up-do-date practical skills and theoretical knowledge that is wholly relevant to a new generation of film makers. Our team of regular and guest tutors have an impressive combined track record and continue to produce numerous high profile feature films, TV dramas, shorts, documentaries, corporate films, pop promos and commercials. Please refer to Tutors & Guest Speakers section for a selection of their credits.

LFA tutors have proven teaching credentials in some of the world’s most renowned film schools
Whilst it is reassuring that our tutors are active practitioners, we recognise that they also need to be able to communicate their knowledge effectively and inspire those they teach. The LFA has developed a policy of employing tutors, on a freelance basis only, through trial workshops. Student feedback on these workshops is critical in the final selection of tutors.

The LFA attracts world-class visiting filmmakers
Visiting tutors enrich the depth of teaching at the school. Students are able to draw on their working practices and feed it back into developing their own film making methods. Guest tutors, through their willingness to contribute to our growing film educational programmes, recognise that the LFA, though relatively youthful, is turning out some of the brightest film talent in the country.
Over the past four years, we have made lasting collaborations with the Curzon Cinemas, Riverside Studios and film festivals and schools around the world (in Poland, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania and Iceland running numerous high profile master classes and film seasons. These have involved recent studio and art house releases, world-class filmmakers and retrospectives of their work.
