To celebrate International Women's Day on 8 March, we are thrilled to host an ‘In Conversation with’ event featuring a panel of our incredible female Alumni who have gone on to make huge waves in the Film and TV industry!

Joining us will be:

The event will be a lively discussion where our panelists will give insights into their career journeys since leaving LFA as well as what it means to be a woman in the TV / Film industry today!

 

ANNA KOLBER

Anna Kolber is a graduate of the London Film Academy and has worked in production in LA, NYC, London, and Stockholm. She has held positions with global companies Shine Endemol, All3Media, ITV, Prophets and created content for clients including NBC, Netflix, Tru TV, MTG, Apple, Cadillac, GMC and Dior.

Anna produced the following feature documentaries: Chasing the Present, which looks at ways to manage anxiety featuring Russell Brand, Alex Grey, Graham Hancock and more. Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein’s The Business of Birth Control which explores what technological and medical advancement might mean for birth control in the 21st Century and Quest for Beauty examining beauty in the world. She co-directed and produced Losing It a short doc series that examines the multitude of ways people lose their virginity.

Her other work includes Netflix’s Grass is Greener directed by Fab 5 Freddy, which examines the intersection between cannabis, music and social justice.

She worked on international TV formats including NBC’s Minute To Win It (58 countries) and Swedish Hollywood Wives (11 countries).

Her scripted feature film credits include work on Bronson by Nicolas Winding Refn, Rise of the Footsoldier by Julian Gilbey and Out of Innocence By Danny Hiller.

Anna was a board member of the Los Angeles Swedish American Chamber of Commerce for many years and is a certified yoga teacher.

 

CARINE KOLEILAT

Carine Koleilat is a multi-skilled Lebanese Filmmaker. They undertook their BA in Communication Arts Radio / TV / Film in Beirut and worked for five years in the Lebanese film industry as a production fixer/assistant producer.

After moving to London in 2011 Carine received a Postgraduate degree from the London Film Academy where they focused on directing and sound recording for film. Since then, they have been involved in numerous projects as a director, supervising sound editor, and sound recordist.

Soon after, they co-founded their own creative post-production company Blue Fox Studios, creating the only womxn-led post facility in London. Blue Fox Studios has been involved in over 400 projects as a post-production facility and a production-house for audio-visual content.

In 2017 Carine received their MA with distinction in Film and Television Production at Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge School of Art). Carine also holds an advanced sound engineering diploma from the School of Sound Recording London. In 2021 Blue Fox Studios expanded its creative hub internationally and incorporated in Dubai, UAE.

 

EVELYN XING

After graduating from London Film Academy’s Filmmaking Diploma + MA program, Evelyn started working for the international sales company Carnaby International Sales and Distribution.

Evelyn works across acquisitions and licensing, providing inputs on projects at various development stages and negotiates with distributors around the world to secure the releases of various independent films. Recent films include The Boat, which premiered at Fantastic Fest 2018 and the British crime action favourite Rise of the Footsoldier franchise.

 

LISA FISCHER

Lisa Fischer is a London-based Writer and Director. Originally from a fine arts and graphic design background, Lisa moved from Switzerland to England in 2011 to complete her postgraduate degree in Filmmaking at the London Film Academy.

In 2013 she co-founded Blue Fox Studios, the first and only womxn-led creative postproduction house in London. Within the company Lisa heads the post-production department and oversees numerous projects to the finish line, ranging from cinema, broadcast to commercial work. In 2021 Lisa recognised the potential of the film market in Dubai, UAE and decided to venture and incorporate Blue Fox Studios in the Dubai Media City.

Over the years Lisa has been refining her creative skills through writing and directing. She is currently enrolled at the NFTS where she is developing a feature film and a TV series. Concurrently Lisa is an accredited guest lecturer at numerous universities where she teaches Production Design and Colour Grading.
