Zoom webinar; by invitation only

We’re thrilled to invite our LFA Filmmakers’ Club members to a very special Masterclass session with Prano Bailey-Bond, moderated by David Lemon. The session is part of our celebrations of women in film, throughout the month of March, in recognition of International Women’s Day.

Join us on 18 March at 15:00, as we’re joined by Welsh film writer, and director, Prano Bailey-Bond, for a masterclass on writing and directing for the screen.

Bailey-Bond has made a range of short films, including ‘Nasty’ (2015), which premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, and ‘Shortcut’ (2016) for Film4’s Fright Bites Halloween series.

Her feature-film debut, ‘Censor’ (2021) had its’ world premiere at Sundance Film Festival, and went on to win the prestigious Golden Méliès at Sitges Film Festival 2021.

The psychological horror, directed and co-written by Bailey-Bond, stars Niamh Algar as a worker at a film censorship board, who links a disturbing horror movie to her sister’s mysterious disappearance.

Since the success of ‘Censor’, Bailey-Bond has been selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Filmmaker, as well as one of Variety magazine’s ‘10 Directors to Watch’, and one of The Observer’s ‘Film Faces of the Year’, in 2021. ‘Censor’ is supported by BFI, Film4, Film Cymru Wales, and Creative England.

The masterclass will be moderated by David Lemon; British screenwriter and LFA tutor. Lemon has written for shows like ‘Doctors’, and ‘Funky Fables’. He wrote the screenplay for ‘Containment’ (2015), starring Louise Brealey. David has taught Screenwriting at LFA for several years.

The Filmmakers’ Club is LFA’s global network of emerging filmmakers, available exclusively to all current students and alumni. Members will be invited to the event via email.
