LFA Pioneers Award 2020 - Scholarship for an emerging female filmmaker!

25 February 2020

The LFA Pioneers Award is back for 2020, with a half-scholarship worth £11,500 available for one female filmmaker on our 1-year Filmmaking Diploma starting 28 September 2020. The scholarship is to help a promising filmmaker who might otherwise, due to financial constraints, not be able to access training.

Our last scholarship was awarded to Beatrix Blaise, who started in May 2019:

“There are so many great, aspiring women filmmakers out there so it's a real privilege to receive the LFA Pioneer Award. When I think of attending the London Film Academy, I see it as a fantastical place where I can learn to be the kind of writer and director I would like to be. Decorated with secrets, history and characters - I look forward to this chapter of my movie career.”

Since the London Film Academy’s inception in 2001, Founders and Principals, Anna MacDonald and Daisy Gili, have awarded hundreds of partial and full scholarship places ranging between £2,000 and £23,000 to support those who, due to financial constraints, are not be able to access training.

The Pioneers Award is available to those who wish to apply to the September 2020 intake only.
