Standard Visitor Visa

If you are planning on enrolling on one of our short courses which is less than 6 months, depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa from outside the UK.

If you need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa, you may be required to provide an acceptance letter from LFA with details of the course(s) you have been accepted onto.

When can I apply for a Standard Visitor visa?

The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel.

How to apply for a Standard Visitor visa

You must apply for a Standard Visitor visa online before you travel to the UK. To support your Standard Visitor visa application, LFA can produce an acceptance letter confirming your intention to attend one of our short courses. Please see below for instructions on obtaining this letter.

 

Step 1: Book and pay for your LFA short course

Complete your course booking via MyLFA and pay the full course fees

 

Step 2: Request a letter of acceptance

To request a letter of acceptance please email the Admissions team - admissions@londonfilmacademy.com . In order to issue your letter of acceptance we will require you to provide us with specific documentation.

Documents you will need to supply to obtain a letter of acceptance from LFA:

  • Details of the course(s) booked including dates
  • A scanned copy or high-quality photograph of your passport
  • Your passport number
  • Your name as it appears on your passport
  • Your nationality
  • Your home address
  • The address where you will be staying whilst studying in the UK (if known)

 

Step 3: Issue of letter of acceptance

LFA will email a letter of acceptance onto the course(s), which you can use to apply for your Standard Visitor Visa.

What happens if my Standard Visitor visa is refused?

If you are unable to attend a course due to not being successful in your visa application, please refer to our LFA Procedure 2.4 - Tuition Fee Refund and Compensation procedure and our LFA Terms and Conditions. Please note that we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate your late transfer request. Transfers at late notice, are dependent on whether we can fill the place on the course.
